Disney has shared a “first listen” of “This Is The Thanks I Get?!” performed by Chris Pine as King Magnifico in Disney’s Wish.
The full song will be released tomorrow on “Wish Wednesday.”
In “Wish,” Asha, an astute idealist, is granted a wish by a cosmic force: a small, boundless energy entity named Star. Together, they face the formidable King Magnifico of Rosas in a bid to save her community.
The narrative illustrates the power of human determination combined with celestial magic. The film features Ariana DeBose, an Academy Award-winning actress, as Asha, with Chris Pine voicing Magnifico and Alan Tudyk as Valentino, Asha’s beloved goat. Directed by Oscar winners Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), it’s produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Juan Pablo Reyes (“Encanto”).
The executive producer is Jennifer Lee (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”), with Lee and Allison Moore (“Night Sky,” “Manhunt”) credited as writers.
Original music comes from Grammy-nominated Julia Michaels and Grammy winner Benjamin Rice, with Dave Metzger providing the score.
