Bob Weis honored with a window at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Bob Weis, who retired from Imagineering last year after 42 years, was honored today with a window at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The window is located above the Hollywood & Vine restaurant.

Disney shared photos of the ceremony earlier today.

Weis, who served as the Global Imagineering Ambassador until he retired, served as president of Imagineering for nearly six years and was involved in projects across the globe over five decades. He joined the Walt Disney Imagineering team in 1984 as a design manager, and over the years, he has taken on various leadership roles, including being the president of the division since 2016.

During his time at Disney, Weis has been responsible for some of the most successful and innovative theme park projects, including the redesign of Disney California Adventure Park and the creation of the Avatar-inspired land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. He has also overseen the development of many new attractions and experiences, such as the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
